Symptomatic response to therapy with Omeprazole (PROSEC) does not preclude the presence of gastric malignancy. When gastric ulcer is suspected, the possibility of malignancy should be excluded before treatment with Omeprazole is instituted as treatment may alleviate symptoms and delay diagnosis.
